Ankeny Centennial (Ankeny, Iowa), Naperville North (Naperville, Ill.) and St. Thomas Aquinas (Overland Park, Kan.) were the big winners in the final weekend of regional high school showcases for the spring 2016 season.

Centennial and St. Thomas Aquinas won the top brackets at the adidas Tournament of Champions in Burlington, Iowa, while Naperville North became a rare repeat winner at the Naperville Invitational.

Teams now settled into the stretch run of local and playoff matches between now and the end of the season.

Naperville North's victory allowed the team to vault to No. 1 in the Illinois state rankings and No. 2 in the Midwest region rankings this week. Centennial already was No. 1 in Iowa, but moves up in the Midwest region rankings. Likewise, St. Thomas Aquinas stays No. 3 in Kansas, but its region and national standing greatly improves following a 3-0 showing in Iowa.
