NOTES: After a scoreless regulation, Episcopal fell behind 1-0 in overtime before rallying for a 2-1 win over John Cooper for the program’s fourth straight Southwest Preparatory Conference title. Division I prospect Victor Velasco and Juan Rodriguez combined for 50 goals on the season. The team, made up from several members of the Houstonians club title-winning team, outscored its opponents 73-3 on the season with two of the goals allowed coming on set pieces. Episcopal’s key victory was a 1-0 win over FAB 50 Central Catholic the week after Central Catholic beat FAB 50 Top 25 powers Cathedral (Calif.) and Loyola (Calif.).

NOTES: Montverde Academy's bid for a ninth straight undefeated season came up short due to one December defeat, ending its national record undefeated run at 185 matches. The Eagles, however, defeated Tampa Jesuit along with three other district champions and two district runners-up. The team featured goalkeeper Weston King (Louisville), Bernardo Gracindo (Northeastern), Joao Lima (Charleston), Bleno Cruz (Marshall), Bryan Moreira (Indianapolis), Bruno De Nez, Ricardo Paiva, Pedro Melo, Xavier Laneuville, Frederico Tramonina and Ricardo Rego.

NOTES: Fabian Mendoza scored two of Sunnyside's three goals during an 11-minute stretch as the Blue Devils stunned Campo Verde 4-0 in the state final. Sunnyside's undefeated season included an AZ Showcase title win over Arizona 6A champ Brophy Prep. Seniors Manuel Quiroz led the team with 39 goals and 21 assists while Adrian Virgen added 22 goals and 25 assists. The Blue Devils netted 115 goals.

NOTES: Ryan Kowarsch made a game-winning save on the final shootout attempt as San Clemente edged Cathedral for the SoCal Division I title following a 2-2 match. Cathedral defeated San Clemente at the Lotto Sport Western Showcase, San Clemente won the rematch in the Southern Section final and then a week later the teams went to PKs in the SoCal final. San Diego State signee Blake Bowen led the Tritons with 18 goals.

NOTES: Cathedral's season ended with a shootout loss to San Clemente in the SoCal Division I final after a 2-2 match. Cathedral lost to San Clemente 1-0 the week earlier in the Southern Section Division 1 final. Cathedral had key wins over San Clemente and Servite at the Lotto Western Showcase, Torrey Pines, and De La Salle at the De La Salle Soccer Showcase. The Phantoms also won their bracket at the North Texas Elite Showcase, which included wins over Grand Prairie (Texas), San Antonio LEE (Texas) and St. Paul's (La.).

School Facts: Private, all-boys, 875 students, grades 8-12.
NOTES: Junior standout Michael Dufour scored all three goals as St. Paul's handled New Orleans Jesuit 3-0 in the state final. The teams had tied in an early season meeting. The win marked St. Paul's sixth state title in the last nine seasons. Dufour led the team in goals while senior Conner Walmsley was a key playmaker in the midfield and led the team in assists. St. Paul's only loss was an overtime setback to Cathedral (Calif.) at the North Texas Elite Showcase while Cathedral was playing with only nine men due to two red cards.
7 (7) Alief Elsik Houston, TX 24-1-1
Edgar Renteria scored the winning goal as Elsik advanced to the state semifinals with a 3-2 win over Spring Woods. Renteria had two goals in the team's 4-3 win over Tompkins in the regional semifinal contest one day earlier. Elsik faces Flower Mound, which spent some time at No. 1 in the FAB 50 this season, in this week's state semifinals.
8 (8) El Segundo El Segundo, CA 24-1-2*
Season Complete. CIF SoCal Division II champion. CIF Southern Section Division 3 champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,255 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Casey Lund scored the game-winning goal as El Segundo rallied for a 2-1 win over West Torrance in the SoCal Regional final. El Segundo also defeated West Torrance for the Southern Section Division 3 title. The Eagles fell behind in the last match of the year, but Jack Finders tied it before Lund won it. El Segundo ended the season on a 18-match undefeated streak.

San Antonio LEE San Antonio, TX 25-2-1
LEE routed city rival San Antonio Reagan 5-0 in the regional final to advance to this week's state semifinals. The Volunteers took a 4-0 lead in the first half and five different players ended up scoring goals in the one-sided match.

Season Complete. Texas 6A regional semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 2,500 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Tompkins' season ended with a 4-3 loss to Alief Elsik in the regional semifinals. JoVan Prado ended up leading Tompkins with 32 goals this season.

School Facts: Private, all-boys, 1,600 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Mario Barocio and Tate Hackett scored the goals to lift Bellarmine to a 2-1 win over Jesuit in an all-Jesuit clash in the NorCal Division 1 final. Twenty-one different players scored goals for the balanced Bells this year with Barocio leading the way with 10. The Bells twice defeated Watsonville and had other key wins over Turlock, Branham and went 3-0 at the Santa Barbara College Showcase.

School Facts: Private, all-boys, 1,200 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Logan Abele, Carson Edwards and Francesco Montanile scored the goals as Brophy Prep rolled to a rain-soaked 3-0 victory over Hamilton in the state final. Among Brophy's key results this year are ties with Servite (Calif.) and San Clemente (Calif.), two wins over Hamilton and Chaparral. Brophy lost in the AZ Showcase final to undefeated and Top 5-ranked Sunnyside.

School Facts: Public, 2,600 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: After edging Edison on penalty kicks in the SoCal Division I quarterfinals, Torrey Pines season ended with a 2-1 overtime loss to Cathedral. The Falcons had started the season with a 2-1 loss to Cathedral.

School Facts: Public, 2,525 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: After an and-and-down regular season, the Chargers put together a stellar postseason, beating Santa Margarita, Palos Verdes and Loyola before falling to San Clemente in overtime in the Southern Section semifinals. The Chargers advanced to the regional tournament and pushed Torrey Pines to penalty kicks before losing in the quarterfinals.

School Facts: Private, all-boys, 1,200 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Loyola's dazzling season ended with an upset loss to Edison in the Southern Section quarterfinals. Loyola's only other defeat was to Central Catholic (Texas) at the North Texas Elite Showcase. The Cubs won the Mission League title and had key nonleague wins over Santa Ana, Downey, Santa Barbara and Marcus (Texas).

School Facts: Public, 2,800 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Santa Ana's season ended with a 3-0 loss to eventual section champion San Clemente. The defeat came one round after Santa Ana surprised favored Servite. Edgar Canela, a senior, led Santa Ana in goals and assists.

School Facts: Private, all-boys, 900 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Servite's season ended with a loss to Santa Ana in the Southern Section playoffs. Servite won the Trinity League after twice tying Mater Dei. The Friars also tied Arizona state champion Brophy Prep (Ariz.) and Cathedral and recorded key wins over Central Section champ Fresno Central and a four-goal victory over Florida 4A champ Auburndale (Fla.).

School Facts: Public, 1,650 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Auburndale delivered on the promise of a great season, winning the Class 4A state title 5-3 in overtime over Fort Lauderdale. Three players who have made this program nationally known over the past three years scored the final three goals en route to the program's first state title since 2007 -- Noah Sims, Ducarmel Jeannestin and Noah Stephens. Ben Pigg and Echoni Puis also scored in the final. Sims led the team with 30 goals and 25 assists. Jeannestin, a junior, added 27 goals and 23 assists. Stephens had 21 goals. Auburndale went 0-2-1 with only two goals scored at the Lotto Sport Western Showcase in California, tying Torrey Pines (winning on PKs), before losing to Servite and San Clemente. The team was 22-0-1 in Florida and scored at least three goals in 21 matches. The team had key wins over 2A champ Lake Highland Prep and regionally ranked Fletcher.
19 (19) Jesuit Carmichael, CA 24-3-3*
Season Complete. CIF NorCal Division I runner-up. CIF Sac-Joaquin Division I champion.
School Facts: Private, all-boys, 1,075 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Chris Meyers scored the lone goal in Jesuit's 2-1 loss to Bellarmine in the NorCal Division I final. It was his team-leading 19th goals to go along with 19 assists this season.
20 (20) Pharr Valley View Pharr, TX 29-1-1
Mario De Los Santos scored seven goals as Valley View won its regional semifinal and final matches by a combined 11-3 margin last week. The results send Valley View into this week's state semifinals.
21 (21) Berkeley Berkeley, CA 24-1-4*
Season Complete. CIF NorCal Division I semifinalist. CIF North Coast Division I champion.
School Facts: Public, 3,000 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Berkeley's season ended with a shootout loss to Jesuit in the NorCal Division I semifinals. It was a heartbreaking end to a stellar season for the Yellow Jackets, who were led by junior standout Kalani Kossa-Rienzi, who finished with 25 goals.
22 (22) Birmingham Van Nuys, CA 21-5-3*
Season Complete. CIF SoCal Division I semifinalist. CIF Los Angeles Division I champion.
School Facts: Public, 3,250 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Birmingham Charter's season ended with a 4-0 loss to San Clemente in the SoCal semifinals in a match that was scoreless at halftime. The Patriots, after winning the Los Angeles Section title, defeated Mater Dei in the SoCal quarterfinals.

Season Complete. CIF SoCal Division I quarterfinalist. CIF Southern Section Division I semifinalist.
School Facts: Public, 2,100 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Mater Dei's season ended with back-to-back losses, first to Cathedral in the Southern Section semifinals and then to Birmingham Charter in the SoCal Division I quarterfinals. During the season, Mater Dei went undefeated in the Trinity league, placing second to Servite as both teams tied both of their matches.

NOTES: Max Moonier scored the game-winner in overtime to lift Punahou to a 1-0 victory over league rival Iolani in the state final. Punahou went 3-0-1 against Iolani this season. Moonier, defender Kobi Saito and keeper Nicholas Shor were first-team all-state selections. David Trifonovitch was named ScoringLive Coach of the Year.
